How To Deal With Bullying In The Classroom

As a teacher, it is going to be your job to try and recognize the kids who kind of sit along the sidelines, who may seem to get picked on more than others, and it is also important to recognize the students who seem to get pleasure out of putting other students in their place.
As educators, we need to know how to handle bullying when we see it. Some things we can do are:
Recognize the problem (and the severity)
Not to look the other way. The more we ignore the behavior, the more we are allowing it and letting it happen.
We must recognize that it is adults who need to stop the situation. Kids cannot take care of the problem themselves. Often, children will try to ignore the fact of being bullied and not want to talk to adult about it because they feel ashamed or embarrassed.
